We invest over time and partner with a small portfolio of non-profits driving toward better outcomes for Bridgeport children.

Our overarching goal is to strengthen our non-profit investees and their ability to drive towards organizational and child outcomes. Thus, we do the following for selected investees:

  • Provide meaningful annual general operating support to each investee.
  • Diminish transaction costs to investees by providing multi-year support over an anticipated three to five years.

Invest Targeted Capacity Building Support

  • Hire best-in-class consultants to work with investees to improve their organizational outcomes by assessing and strengthening their capacities for strategic leadership and theory of change; oucomes-focused management; performance management; program quality, fidelity, and effectiveness; and resource acquisition.

Invest Ongoing Collaborative Partnerships

  • Provide continued strategic support and portfolio management by Tauck Family Foundation staff to support investees in achieving organizational and child outcomes.
  • Foundation staff work with investees to set and meet capacity building and performance benchmarks over time.

Invest Knowledge Building and Sharing

  • Provide professional development and coaching to our investees around social and emotional learning strategies and related areas.
  • Invest in the development of surveys to measure and monitor social and emotional skills (child outcomes) in a performance management setting.
  • Leverage strategic partnerships with community organizations, other funders, and affinity groups.
  • Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing among investees, including sharing effective practices, exchanging information, sharing resources, and complementing and enhancing each other’s capacity to develop social and emotional skills for Bridgeport’s students
