Tauck Family Foundation invests in non-profit organizations working to develop essential life skills that lead to better prospects for children from low-income families in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Portfolio

After an intensive due diligence and selection process during the first half of 2013, the Tauck Family Foundation selected a new portfolio of non-profit investees.

Together, this portfolio has the chance to reach over 70% of the roughly 11,000 children in kindergarten through fifth grade in Bridgeport. We imagine this portfolio as a exciting opportunity for a critical mass of Bridgeport's children to learn and retain the social and emotional learning (SEL) skills that research shows will help them manage their emotions effectively; persist toward their goals; learn for the sake of learning; connect with their peers; believe that they are capable of achieving academically; and ultimately change the statistics for themselves and their families.

But we know this will take time, despite the talent and intensive efforts of our investees and their students. We have made a commitment of multi-year general operating and capacity building support to strengthen these four organizations over the next 5 years, co-creating a plan to help them drive towards better outcomes for the children they serve in Bridgeport. We look forward to updating you on our Portfolio's progress over the coming years.
